A compact four-season cabin designed for a narrow lakefront lot.
Enquire About This ProjectA small footprint and strict setback requirements pushed the design toward a tall, narrow section that still delivers an open, light-filled main living space.
The Challenge
Lakeshore setback rules and a narrow lot left almost no room to work with in plan, forcing the design to work in section instead.
The Concept
A two-story volume with a double-height living space facing the lake and compact sleeping quarters stacked above the entry.
The Solution
A loft-level guest sleeping area over the entry recovered floor area without extending the building's footprint.
